Staff and Students Clean a Beach to Commemorate Earth Day!

To commemorate Earth Day, LSBF in Singapore’s students and staff participated in a clean-up at Changi Beach on 20th April.

Nearly 50 students from a mix of hospitality, English, and business programmes joined LSBF Green Committee staff in the annual beach clean-up. Split into three teams, students and staff cleared about 25kg of waste across an approximate range of 8km.

“The beach clean-up is a follow-up activity to last year’s ‘An Active and Gracious Community’ project. The project demonstrated a video on how a dirty and polluted beach can be transformed into a clean beach through the efforts of an active and gracious community. The project has created interest among LSBF members and drawn their attention towards the participation of green and environment-related activities. The beach clean-up initiative was successful as many students and staff did their part to mitigate pollution. We hope to organise more of such initiatives as part of our 2018 sustainability efforts,” said Vinod Kandavelu, Chairman of the school’s Green Committee.
