The Postgraduate Diploma in Business offers a well-rounded curriculum to build a strong foundation in business concepts and practices. Modules like Business Fundamentals and Economics from a Business Perspective provide insights into organisational structures, business functions, and economic principles critical for decision-making.
Graduates will refine essential skills through modules such as Business and Academic Writing and Quantitative Skills for Business, enabling them to communicate effectively and utilise quantitative data in business scenarios.
Business and Academic Writing
This module focuses on developing students’ ability to create written documents and presentations essential for success in MBA coursework and the workplace. Students will learn to analyse context and audience, determine purpose and message content, and integrate effective visual design and media into workplace communication.
Coursework includes researching and writing correspondence, reports, proposals, project plans, social and digital media communications, and technical descriptions. Additionally, students will prepare and deliver oral presentations for both professional and academic settings.
Quantitative Skills for Business
This module provides students with foundational quantitative skills essential for MBA studies, including topics such as basic algebra and statistics. It prepares students for core MBA courses like accounting, economics, finance, operations, and project management by teaching the tools and techniques needed to understand and apply quantitative information in business decision-making.
Business Fundamentals
This module explores various forms of business organisation and provides an overview of key business functions, including production, marketing, human resource management, accounting, and finance. Students will examine organisational structures, operational management opportunities, business processes, financing, risk management, corporate responsibilities to shareholders and employees, and business law, offering a comprehensive foundation in business operations and management.
Economics from a Business Perspective
This module introduces students to fundamental economic principles and their application in business contexts. The microeconomics component covers topics such as opportunity costs, supply and demand, price regulation, production and costs, market structure, government policy, and international economics.
The macroeconomics segment explores economic growth, savings, investment, the financial system, money and banking, price stability, and macroeconomic fluctuations. Together, these elements provide a comprehensive understanding of economic concepts and their relevance to business decision-making.

Assessment, graduation and awards
3 of the 4 courses adopt forms of continuous assessment. Only Business Fundamentals has a final term paper. All courses include marks for participation (between 14 to 20%), and quizzes.

Student must achieve an overall passing grade of 40%. If students fail to achieve an overall passing grade of 40%, students will be permitted one retake attempt in each failed assessment and failure of this retake will require students to re-module the failed module(s) again in full prior to additional retake attempt.

Students must complete and pass all required modules in this course to receive a Postgraduate Diploma in Business certification.

Who can apply for this programme
Minimum Academic Entry Requirement
Local and International students MUST have
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimal score of 60%
Minimum English Language Entry Requirement
Both local and international students MUST fulfil the minimum English language entry requirement of one of the following.
- Achieved grade C6 or better in English language in GCE O level
- Completed LSBF Preparatory Course in English Advanced Level
- IELTS 6.5 with the writing band score no less than 6.0
Students with non-standard entry requirements will be assessed on a case by case basis subject to approval of the Academic Board.
