About This Programme
The Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Accounting and Finance (Top-Up) allows students to fast-track their education and earn a bachelor’s degree in just one year. Accredited by CIMA and ACCA, this programme equips students with the knowledge and practical skills needed for success in finance and accounting, enhancing career potential globally. Upon completion, the BA (Hons) degree will be awarded by the University of Greenwich.

MODULES
Designed to explore beyond subject knowledge
The Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Accounting and Finance (Top-Up) provides a focused curriculum, combining technical knowledge with strategic application. Core modules such as Advanced Financial Accounting, Advanced Management Accounting, and Audit and Assurance equip students with the expertise to analyse and manage complex financial information effectively.
Graduates will develop advanced skills in financial analysis, strategic decision-making, and professional communication. By integrating theoretical knowledge with practical case studies, the programme prepares students for dynamic roles in accountancy and finance, supported by CIMA and ACCA accreditation to enhance career prospects.
Advanced Financial Accounting
This module builds on prior learning by addressing current and complex issues in financial accounting. Students will critically review, evaluate, and contextualise advanced practical and theoretical aspects of the field, including controversial topics and emerging trends.
The module develops an understanding of factors impacting the financial environment and reporting. Students will also enhance their ability to present and communicate financial information effectively, using a wide range of accounting techniques applicable to investors and other stakeholders.
Advanced Management Accounting
This module focuses on the critical evaluation of alternative approaches to management accounting, exploring the factors that influence the choice of accounting practices. Students will also gain an understanding of the behavioural aspects of management accounting and the control process, providing a deeper insight into decision-making and organisational performance.
Finance
This module explores the core objective of finance: maximising shareholder value. Students will examine the internal policies firms undertake to achieve this goal, including risk, return, and utility theories for investors, as well as portfolio construction.
Key topics include capital structure, dividend policy, risk management, and valuation techniques for assets, businesses, and projects. Emphasis is placed on the practical application of knowledge, equipping students with the skills needed to evaluate and implement financial strategies effectively.
Strategic Financial Management
This module explores the intersection of corporate strategy and financial management, addressing the balance between qualitative decision-making in business strategy and the quantitative precision of financial management. Students will apply both strategic and financial analysis to enhance organisational performance.
The module covers topics such as organisational strategic direction and fit, internal and external analysis, option generation and screening, option choice, and implementation. Learning is enriched through case studies based on real organisations and business scenarios, providing practical insights into effective strategic financial management.
Audit and Assurance
This module provides an in-depth understanding of assurance services and internal audit concepts. Students will explore audit testing techniques, including the processes of recording, evaluating, and presenting evidence, as well as the role of auditing in business and society.
The module also fosters intellectual curiosity, responsiveness to challenges, and the ability to demonstrate initiative, equipping students with the skills required for effective auditing practices.

Who can apply for this programme
Local/International Students Entry Requirements
Minimum Academic Entry Requirements:
Students who have successfully completed either of the following:
- LSBF Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Finance
- LSBF Higher Diploma in Accounting and Finance
- Polytechnic or other PEIs Diploma in a relevant field
- Students, who have obtained equivalent qualifications in relevant fields, will be assessed case-by-case and subjected to university approval
Minimum English Language Entry Requirements:
Applicants who have not studied prior qualifications in English requires IELTS 6.0 or equivalent.
